Many Stars, One Bright Galaxy

Principal's Corner

Dear Families,

As we move forward together, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for the many encouraging words, thoughtful gestures, and unwavering support you have shown our school community during this difficult time. Your kindness, compassion, and understanding have meant more than words can express. Our school community is stronger because of the care and support we share with one another, and I am truly grateful to be part of such a wonderful community.

In the midst of a challenging time, it has been wonderful to see our students, staff, and families come together to create joyful memories and celebrate all the special things happening at our school!

We had a fantastic Book Character Parade, filled with creativity, imagination, and some amazing character costumes! It was such a joy to see our students bring their favorite book characters to life and celebrate the love of reading.

Our Family Game Night was another wonderful opportunity to connect, laugh, and enjoy time together. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. Events like these remind us how special our school community is!

Our 5th graders also had a wonderful time at BOA! It was exciting to see them enjoying this special experience, making memories, and learning along the way. These opportunities are such an important part of creating meaningful experiences for our students.

We also enjoyed celebrating Red Ribbon Week with fun dress-up days! It was great to see our students and staff participate, show their school spirit, and come together to promote the importance of making healthy and positive choices.

As we look ahead, there are so many exciting events and opportunities on the horizon! We are looking forward to the wonderful activities planned in the coming weeks and months.

Through both the difficult moments and the joyful celebrations, we are reminded that community matters, relationships matter, and we are better together. Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. I am looking forward to all the wonderful memories still to come!

With gratitude,
Lauren Sanders

Celebration of life

Our VWES community has asked how to show their love, care, and support for our attendance clerk, Tanya Cantu, and her family during these difficult days.

At this time, the family is not in need of financial assistance. Instead, we would love to surround them with words of comfort, kindness, and cherished memories from the people whose lives she touched.

We invite you to write a heartfelt letter, share a special memory, or offer a few words of encouragement. We will gather these messages into a book that we can share with Mrs. Cantu’s family as a lasting reminder of the love and support surrounding them from our VWES community.

If you would like to share a letter, please turn it into the front office no later than Friday, November 6.

We will take time later in the school year to thoughtfully determine an appropriate way to memorialize her and honor the impact she had on our school community.

Thank you for helping us care for one another and for showing this family the compassion and love that make VWES such a special community.

During this difficult time, even the simplest words can bring comfort and serve as a beautiful reminder of how deeply someone was loved.

lunch visitors

Lunch Visitors

When visiting, you must check in at the front desk, show proper ID, and get a visitor pass. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of their lunch to insure time to check in.

Please let your student know when you are visiting and to meet you. This helps them avoid purchasing a lunch if you are bringing something for them.

Seating is limited to the the white tables outside the library or the picnic tables outdoors. These tables are first come and we ask you share with others if needed.

Also, remember that lunch is with your student only, not with friends. This is for safety and allergies.

You will meet your student at the White Tables in the Library area outside the Café, not at the top of the ramp or in the café.  If you arrive after lunch begins, we will call the student from the cafeteria to come join you.
