Principal's Corner

Dear Families,

What a wonderful week we had this week at VWES! We had a surprise attendance day today and we had a lot of fun! The students who were in attendance today got to throw water balloons at Mr. Smith and I during recess. We let the staff have some fun and join in as well! It was a great way to celebrate all of our students coming to school and working hard everyday!

Please make sure you read through the newsletter each week and stay up to date on all of our wonderful events we have planned for the school year.

Upcoming Dates

September 11 – Grandparent Luncheon

We are excited to welcome our grandparents and special loved ones to campus for a special luncheon. More details will be coming soon!

We have the best school community. We love our families and students and we hope you have a relaxing long weekend. Remember, no school on Monday Sept 7th!

Player of the Game 5th Grader Alyssa L.

Alyssa is an "all-around" terrific student and friend to her classmates. Alyssa is an enthusiastic leader on our campus. She is an active participant in Student Council and provides leadership beyond the classroom. Last year she served as a guide at our Masterpieces in the Making library event and proudly led parents and supporters on a tour of our activities. Alyssa choses to lead by a quiet example. She is confident, kind and always willing to help out where needed. Our Viola Wilson campus is proud to recognize you for being an outstanding student ! Way to go Alyssa, keep shining bright!

Lunch Visitors Welcome - Starting on Tuesday September 8th

When visiting, you must check in at the front desk, show proper ID, and get a visitor pass. Please arrive a few minutes before the start of their lunch to insure time to check in.

Please let your student know when you are visiting and to meet you. This helps them avoid purchasing a lunch if you are bringing something for them.

Seating is limited to the the white tables outside the library or the picnic tables outdoors. These tables are first come and we ask you share with others if needed.

Also, remember that lunch is with your student only, not with friends. This is for safety and allergies.

You will meet your student at the White Tables in the Library area outside the Café, not at the top of the ramp or in the café. If you arrive after lunch begins, we will call the student from the cafeteria to come join you.

Make sure that you have this year tag hanging/visible. If you forget your tag, please have your valid ID, park, and come inside no earlier than 3:15 to get your student.
