MEET THE TEACHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We are very excited about the new school year! We cannot wait to see everyone at Meet the Teacher on Thursday August 6th. New to VWES families are starting 4 pm in the cafeteria. Returning students will meet their teacher at 5:00-5:30 PM for Last names A-M and 5:30-6:00 PM last names N-Z. Please come at your designated time slot to help with the flow of traffic. Returning families need to go to their grade level dens to receive their family packets before meeting their teacher. If you have multiple children, the family packet will be in the oldest students den. You will need to report there first to get the packet. You must have a valid ID to be able to receive your family packet. As always, we thank you for your patience as we serve all of our families.
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL INFORMATION
We want to start the first day of school just like every other day of the year. At VWES, students will report to their grade level dens every morning which is different than in the past. Please remind your students to report to their grade level dens.
- Students eating breakfast (Pre K-5th grade) report to the cafeteria for their meal. After they finish eating they will report to their grade level den.
There is supervision in all areas. At the first bell (7:25 a.m.), the students will enter their classrooms from the dens and begin getting their belongings ready for a great day of learning.
Pre-K and Kinder First Day of School Walk-In Procedure
We know that the first day of school is an exceptional time for everyone, especially for students who have never been to school. Parents of our PreK and Kinder students can drop off their child curbside through the drive-through before 7:35 a.m. or walk them to their classroom at 8:00 a.m.
We want to thank the parents and guardians of students in our upper grades for understanding that we cannot safely extend this opportunity to all grade levels.
PreK and Kinder Walk-in:
- Arrive at the campus before 8:00 a.m. Walk-Ins will not be allowed after 8:15 a.m.
- We will guide you to the cafeteria and then to the classrooms.
- Please take a moment to enjoy big hugs, high fives, share encouragement, and watch them walk into the room.
Car pick up will continue to be one line however the students will not be walking all the way down the drive they will be waiting at color closer to the front of the school. If you do not have your colored car tag for this school year (that you received at meet the teacher) you will need to park and come inside with a valid ID to pick up your student after 3:15 pm.
